ACCF Nepal Challenge 2018

April 8 - April 23

Experience breath-taking views of Everest with ACCF

Travel to Nepal with ACCF and you’ll be introduced  to unique villages and culture of the Sherpa people. Together, we will take time to explore the colourful markets of Namche Bazaar and the famous Thyangboche monastery – the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region. We follow established trails in the Sagamartha National Park to view many of the world’s highest peaks including the summit of Everest that peers above the 8000m peaks of Lhotse and Nuptse.

From Kathmandu we head to the ACCF clinic at Banepa to visit the women’s clinic on monthly screening day, and we’ll get our hands dirty working on full day community project. We will spend our time helping to replaster and paint part of the clinic that was damaged during the 2015 earthquake, shoulder to shoulder with the community which is very rewarding.

My Nepal trip is one that I am still processing. A sensory smorgasbord full splendour, laughter and tears.  The learnings were fast, discovering more about who I am and what life is about while reinforcing how simple life can be.  Exploring the highest mountains in the world forced me to reconnect with the Human Spirit, go with the flow and stay in the moment.  It’s confronting seeing the poverty that people have to live in and how difficult it can be to stay healthy in squalid conditions, but it’s fired me up to continue my journey and bringing awareness to how much these women need our health.”  Lisa, Nepal 2017
