“All I could think about was my baby girl…”
For Marina, a 33-year-old cervical cancer survivor who was diagnosed in 2015, the worst part of cervical cancer wasn’t the diagnosis. It was the thought of leaving her child alone without a mother.
“There was no way in this world I was going to let the cancer beat me. I knew I had to be here for her and I am. She is my rock and kept me together and that’s why I’m here today.”
Keira, a mother of three, always put her marriage and children before her own needs. She ended up putting off her Pap-test for 7 years – and had pre-cancerous cells found when she “finally thought to take care of herself” and booked a cervical screening.
“I thank my lucky stars I didn’t leave it any longer. My 3 little kids need me around a lot longer and prevention is better than cure.”
For mothers like Marina and Keira, surviving cervical cancer means more cherished moments spent with their families.
