In 2017, the National Cervical Cancer Awareness Week was held from November 13-19. During Awareness Week, ACCF is encouraging women to make a commitment to get up-to-date with their cervical screening and paint their nails orange in support of cervical health awareness. Joined by Jana Pittman, Sarah Maree Cameron and Lisa Lockland-Bell as our 2017 Ambassadors.
Cervical Screening Changes
The National Cervical Screening Program will be changing dramatically from December 1st 2017, which will impact all women across Australia. This is the biggest change to women’s health in decades and so it is more important than ever that women ensure they are being screened regularly. This year ACCF will be communicating these changes to women throughout the country and encourage Australians to engage in the conversation about cervical health.
What’s happening during Awareness Week 2017?
ACCF will be hosting events across the country this Awareness Week! We will be lighting up landmarks in capital cities right around Australia, including the Brisbane Story Bridge, Canberra Telstra Tower and Melbourne Town Hall. Check out the Comfort Checklist
One of the biggest goals of Awareness Week is to encourage women who are under-screened (or have never gotten a Pap Test) to take charge of their cervical health. ACCF is thrilled to launch the Comfort Checklist; a reassuring guide to make Pap Test’s less daunting. If this sounds like you, print out the Comfort Checklist and discuss it with your doctor when going for a screening.
