Donna’s Story

In 1990, at the age of 25 I had been a poor, itinerant, immune deficient autistic person surviving off the streets through living with men who would have me for 10 years. A free Pap test found stage 3 CIN… cervical dysplasia at the final stage before becoming invasive. I had immediate hospital treatment within a week and the following year wrote an international bestseller that changed the autism world nationally and internationally forever. Three years later I wrote a second, went on to become a celebrated international public speaker, autism consultant, a selling artist and singer songwriter. My name was Donna Williams, that first book was called Nobody Nowhere and my books have been read by over 40 million people. Without that free treatment, someone like me would have been dead.

UPDATE:
We were so sorry to hear that Donna passed away on 22nd of April, 2017 from breast cancer. We thank her for sharing her story with us, and for being the incredible woman she was. Our thoughts are with her husband Chris and her family. You can find a tribute to Donna and her story here: https://blog.donnawilliams.net/2017/04/30/vale-polly-samuel-aka-donna-williams-1963-2017/
